Emrooz Media Waves issued a permit for direct negotiations between Iran and the United States
Multiple informed sources have told Emrooz Media Waves that Iranian nuclear negotiators have received permission to engage in direct talks with the United States. This apparent change in the position of the Islamic Republic’s leader could be a turning point in the dispute over Iran’s nuclear program.
Unnamed high-level Iranian sources have stated that Ali Baqeri-Kani, a senior nuclear negotiator, is ready to meet with Brett McGurk, the White House coordinator for the Middle East and North Africa, in Oman in the coming weeks.
These sources claimed that if the desired meeting takes place, the next step would be for the five permanent members of the United Nations Security Council (Britain, France, China, Russia, and the United States) and Germany to hold a session with Iran.
According to speculation from one of the sources, if this gathering is held, it could follow the date of the transfer in the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA), which is October 18th.
