Trump’s Request to Close the Case of Election Interference Charges

Former US President Donald Trump has filed a request to the court, seeking to close the case of election interference charges.

He has stated that during his presidency, he acted in his duty to defend the rights of the people and enjoyed immunity.

Mr. Trump argues in his request that his statements, which included expressing doubts about the integrity of the 2020 elections, fell within his official duties as president and as the person responsible for ensuring the accuracy of elections.

The legal proceedings against Mr. Trump regarding the charges are scheduled to begin in March next year and will address the issue of the attack by opponents on the Capitol building on January 6, 2020.

His request could delay the court process.

In a separate case, Mr. Trump’s lawyers in New York have submitted a request to close the criminal case against him, accusing him of paying money to a porn star.

The woman has claimed that the money was paid to keep her relationship with Mr. Trump secret.
