Taxi fares to increase by 45%

The Deputy of Planning at the Tehran Taxi Organization announced a 45% increase in taxi fares after Eid al-Fitr.

According to ILNA, Amir Bayat-Tork stated that the Tehran Governorate made changes to the approved public transportation fare increase and submitted it in the form of letters to the Tehran City Council, which also accepted these changes.

He said that there were provisions and regulations allowing for a maximum 75% increase in taxi fares.

Amir Bayat-Tork has expressed hope that new labels will be installed on all taxis in Tehran in the coming week so that passengers do not have to worry about the amount of fare they should pay.
