Narges Mohammadi has been announced as the winner of the Nobel Peace Prize.

Narges Mohammadi, a human rights activist imprisoned in Iran, was introduced as the winner of the Nobel Peace Prize on Friday, October 6th.

The Nobel Peace Committee in Norway announced on Friday that they are awarding this prestigious prize to Ms. Mohammadi due to her fight against the oppression of women in Iran and her efforts to promote human rights and freedom for all.

Following Shirin Ebadi, Narges Mohammadi is the second Iranian woman to receive this award.

The news of this prize is being published while Ms. Mohammadi has been imprisoned multiple times in the past two decades due to her civil activities, including criticizing the suppression of protests, supporting political prisoners, opposing the death penalty, and defending the rights of citizens. She is currently in prison.
