Women without hijab are banned from entering cinemas

In the latest pressure on women opposing mandatory hijab, their entry into cinemas in South Khorasan province has been prohibited

Gholami, the responsible expert of cinema affairs in South Khorasan, announced that multiple meetings have been held with cinema managers in the province. He told the Young Journalists Club that in these meetings, emphasis was placed on respecting the law-abiding individuals and observing citizens’ rights. Cinema managers were instructed to prevent the entry of individuals who are unveiled or have violated the hijab rules.

He threatened that if the violation of hijab is discovered during the screening of a film, a warning will be issued and if these individuals fail to comply, they will be escorted out of the cinema.

Previously, in concert halls, individuals who did not observe mandatory hijab were also expelled. One of the recent incidents was related to a concert by Sirvan Khosravi, where a young woman got into an altercation with security personnel due to not wearing hijab, and many attendees left the venue in support of her.
