Mohammad Nakhodi won bronze
Mohammad Nakhodi, the Iranian half-national freestyle wrestler weighing 79 kilograms, defeated Orkhan Abbasov from the Republic of Azerbaijan with a score of 10-0 and won the bronze medal in the World Wrestling Championship.
Nakhodi had previously won two silver medals in 2021 and 2022 and had been defeated by Jardan Baroz both times.
Today, in the semifinals of the 2023 World Wrestling Championship in Belgrade, Serbia, Rahmaan Amouzad Khalili competed against Ismail Musakaev, the freestyle wrestler from Hungary, in the 65-kilogram weight class and lost 5-6.
Mojtaba Gholij, another representative of Iran in the two final weight classes of freestyle wrestling, was eliminated in the quarterfinals of the 97-kilogram weight class by Abdulrashid Sadullayev after the Russian wrestler was disqualified. Gholij was also eliminated from the competition.
Yesterday, the Iranian national freestyle wrestling team won one gold medal and two silver medals in the World Championship in Belgrade.
