One of the opponents of the Russian government has been sentenced to 25 years in prison.

In Russia, the court has sentenced one of the prominent opponents of the government to 25 years in prison. Critics consider this verdict politically motivated and aimed at silencing dissent.

Vladimir Kara Murza has been accused of treason and spreading falsehoods about the Russian military. He has repeatedly protested against human rights violations and government corruption, and has been opposed to Russia’s attack on Ukraine.

Mr. Kara Murza described his trial in the style of the Stalin era and said that Russia will be free again. Meanwhile, Japan has officially protested against the military exercises and missile tests of the Russian Navy in the Sea of Japan.

These exercises were conducted around the disputed islands near Hokkaido. The official Russian television described it as a military maneuver to counter enemy naval forces.

According to reports, a part of these exercises involved the flight of reconnaissance aircraft to track submarines.
