The water level of the Caspian Sea has receded up to 100 meters.
ISNA news agency reports that field observations indicate the retreat of coastal lines in Iran in the Caspian Sea, ranging from 10 to 100 meters.
This report states that the circulation of images of Farahabad Sari pier on social media and national media is a signal in this regard. The wooden piers that were built in the sea at a depth of 50 meters a few years ago are now more than 15 meters away from the coastal lines and have turned into unused structures.
ISNA, quoting Masoumeh Banihashemi, the director of the National Center for Caspian Sea Studies and Research, has reported a 38-centimeter decrease in the sea level in the past three years and stated that significant retreats have occurred in the coastal lines of the northern shores of the country since 1995, and the coastal area has increased.
