Widespread workers’ strikes in various industries in Iran

Continuing the expansion of workers’ strikes that has gained momentum in the past few days, the Council for Organizing Workers’ Protests announced strikes in over 60 contracting companies and oil workshops.

The council’s new statement was released on Monday, April 4th, while reports and videos received from Iran indicate the continuation and expansion of trade and labor protests and strikes.

These strikes, which have spread in recent days in various industrial units in Iran, also continued on Tuesday.

The striking workers demand a 79% increase in timely payment of wages, 20 days of work and 10 days of rest per month, improvement in transportation, food, hygiene, and dormitory conditions.
