Ukraine destroyed 13 Iranian Shahed drones
The Ukrainian Air Force announced on Tuesday, February 15, that it had shot down 13 explosive Iranian drones that had flown into Ukraine from southern Russia the previous night.
According to French news agency, Ukrainian Air Force reported that Russian forces launched 15 Shahed drones made in Iran from the Bryansk region in northeastern Kiev. Ukrainian forces successfully destroyed 13 of them before they could reach their targets.
Sergei Popko, the head of the military management office in the city of Kiev, said that these drones were heading towards Kiev, but Ukrainian air defense forces shot them down. No one was injured, and no damage was done to the infrastructure.
After receiving new missile defense systems from Western allies, including the United States and Britain, Ukraine has been better able to resist Russian airstrikes.
However, in late February, a Russian unmanned aerial vehicle attacked the city of Khmelnytsky in western Ukraine, killing two people and injuring three.
