Gasoline Crisis in Iran

According to the official report of the Ministry of Petroleum, the gasoline imbalance in Iran started from last summer and has continued until the beginning of the current month. The government has been forced to release one-third of the country’s strategic gasoline reserves to the market.

According to this report, the average daily gasoline consumption in the country during the first 10 months of this year was about 103 million liters, but in the month of Dey, it reached nearly 106 million liters.

Overall, during the first 10 months of last year, gasoline consumption in the country increased by about 19% compared to the same period in 1400. The government has been forced to import approximately 440 million liters of its strategic gasoline reserves into the market in order to meet the demand. This is equivalent to one-third of Iran’s total strategic gasoline reserves.
