According to a directive from the Council for Promotion of Virtue and Prevention of Vice, female employees of Mobarakeh Steel Company must wear a mantou that is one size larger than their own size.

Based on a picture circulated on social media, the Council for Promotion of Virtue and Prevention of Vice of Mobarakeh Steel Company has distributed guidelines for the dress code of female employees in a explanatory session. These guidelines are intended to regulate the attire of female employees.

These guidelines consist of 11 articles, and violation of any of these articles will be considered a breach of disciplinary rules and will be dealt with according to the organization’s legal regulations and behavioral selection.

One of the articles states that the mantou worn by female employees must be one size larger than their own size and the length of the mantou should be at least below the knee.

Furthermore, the seventh article states that the use of long socks should be in a way that preserves the required hijab in transportation services, offices, and related environments while sitting.

In recent months, the Islamic Republic has increased pressure on women in terms of freedom of dress.

This is happening while during the nationwide protests following the killing of Mahsa Amini, protesters chanted slogans against compulsory hijab and demanded the overthrow of the Islamic Republic.
