Rapid deletion of the new American bunker buster bomb image
According to a report by the Associated Press, the deletion of the new bunker buster bomb images by the US Air Force on Facebook page may have exposed sensitive details about the bomb.
The images of the 12-ton American bunker buster bomb, known as GBU-57 or Massive Ordnance Penetrator (MOP), were published on the Whiteman Air Force Base Facebook page on April 30, but were deleted less than a day later.
According to the Associated Press report on Monday, May 22, the release of these images coincided with increased maritime tensions between Iran and the United States, as well as Tehran’s progress in building nuclear facilities.
Whiteman Air Force Base, located in Missouri, is where the US B-2 stealth bombers take off from.
The base had mentioned the aforementioned bombs as weapons with high penetrating power, but did not provide any information on how and where the bombs would be tested.
