White House’s reaction to serial poisonings in Iran

The spokesperson for the National Security Council of the White House expressed concern on Friday, February 19, about the ongoing chain and widespread poisonings in girls’ schools in various cities of Iran, and called for credible and independent investigations in this regard and holding those responsible accountable.

Adrian Watson said in a tweet that the reports received regarding the poisoning of female students in Iran and its possible connection to their participation in recent protests are deeply concerning.

He added that credible and independent investigations must be conducted and the perpetrators must be held accountable. All girls have the right to education without fear for their lives.

Officials of the Islamic Republic claim that no clues about the perpetrators and causes of these dangerous attacks have been found yet.
