18 female prisoners call on the public to protest against the death penalty

A group of female political prisoners held in Evin Prison have released a letter condemning the execution of protesters in Iran and have urged the people of Iran to take to the streets and chant slogans calling for the abolition of the death penalty to prevent the killing of protesters whose lives are at risk.

These women have announced their sit-in in front of the guard officer’s office in the women’s ward of Evin in solidarity with the protesters, and have also called on the public to take similar actions to prevent the execution of sentences for other detainees of the protests and further suppression of protesters.

The signatories of this letter have also written, ‘Let us rise to tear the noose from around the necks of our youth and to break the erected gallows of death.’

There is no other way. This time, let’s seize the streets of the city with the cry ‘Stop the executions’ and continue the strikes with greater power and scope.
