300 institutions and companies added to the new US sanctions list against Russia
The United States announced on Thursday, June 23, that in continuation of sanctions against Russia due to the Ukraine war, 300 other institutions and companies have been placed on the sanctions list.
The new sanctions by the US Department of the Treasury and the Department of State include over 300 institutions and companies in Russia, China, Turkey, and the United Arab Emirates.
The Moscow Stock Exchange and several of its subsidiary companies, which engage in complex daily transactions worth billions of dollars, as well as entities involved in Russian natural gas projects, are subject to these sanctions.
Janet Yellen, the US Treasury Secretary, stated that today’s actions strike at the remaining ways Russia relies on international supplies and equipment, including their dependence on revenue from natural resources.
