35% Increase in Medical Tariffs
Dr. Saeed Karimi stated that the medical tariffs for 2024 were announced today by the First Vice President and will serve as the legal basis for the year 2024.
He mentioned that some individuals had announced tariffs on social media that lacked legal validity. Regarding the details of doctors’ visit fees in 2024, he said that the fees differ across public, private, non-governmental, and charitable sectors. However, in the private sector, where most people visit, the visit fees are set at 126,000 tomans for general practitioners, 189,000 tomans for specialists, 241,000 tomans for subspecialists and fellowship doctors, 251,000 tomans for psychiatry specialists, and 286,000 tomans for psychiatry subspecialists.
The Deputy Minister of Health stated that the professional component of surgical procedures and service wages is set at 101,000 tomans for the private sector and full-time geographic members, and 30,000 tomans for the public sector.
Karimi announced an average 35% increase in the 2024 medical tariffs compared to 2023 and added that the government’s support for this level of growth is appreciated, as such a 35% increase in tariffs is unprecedented.
