600% Increase in Hotel and Restaurant Prices in Iran

Statistics Center reviews show that the highest point-to-point inflation recorded this February was related to the hotel and restaurant group.

The consumer price index in this group was 7915, and its point-to-point inflation reached about 79%.

Point-to-point inflation rate refers to the percentage change in the price index number compared to the same month of the previous year.

This means that the cost for households in the country to use hotels and restaurants has, on average, increased by 79% compared to February 2022.

This increase in the price index over the year leading up to mid-winter this year occurs while the point-to-point inflation for the hotel and restaurant group in February 2018 was estimated to be only 68%, and the price index at that time was 1091, which means a 625% increase over five years.
