71% of educated women in Iran are unemployed.

The Statistical Center of Iran has announced that the unemployment rate for women was 27.8% last year, compared to 13.5% for men, meaning the female unemployment rate was approximately twice that of men.

According to a recent report published by the Statistical Center of Iran, in the past year, the share of unemployed higher education graduates from the total unemployed population was 27.1% for men and 7.1% for women.

Earlier, the Farda-e-Eghtesad had written in a report that in the Iranian economy, for every 100 employed men, there are nearly 141 employed women. This is despite the fact that in sectors such as finance, health insurance, and education, which have a high demand for skilled and educated labor, the number of employed women is even higher than men.

The highest unemployment rates have also been announced in various cities in Iran, with Sistan and Baluchestan, Hormozgan, Lorestan, Chaharmahal and Bakhtiari, and Kermanshah provinces having the highest unemployment rates respectively.
