813 people were killed in Norooz traffic accidents, according to the Traffic Police.
The head of the Traffic Information and Control Center of the Traffic Police announced the end of the Norooz Police plan on the country’s roads and stated that during the implementation of this plan, 813 people lost their lives in accident scenes.
Colonel Ahmad Shirani explained the details of this news, saying that the Norooz Police plan on the country’s roads started on December 13th and continued until April 3rd. During this period, all police forces were fully prepared and stationed along the roads.
He stated that during the implementation of this plan, around 100,000 driving accidents occurred. Out of these 100,000 accidents, 667 were fatal, resulting in 813 deaths. However, this statistic pertains to fatalities at the accident scenes, and the exact number of fatalities will be announced by forensic medicine. Therefore, the announced statistics are considered preliminary.
The head of the Traffic Information and Control Center of the Traffic Police, Faraj, also mentioned the number of casualties in accidents. He said that out of a total of 100,000 accidents that occurred during this period, 17,056 accidents resulted in injuries. In these accidents, 21,441 people were also injured, some of whom suffered amputation and other injuries.
