The United States and Britain have imposed extensive sanctions against Iran’s drone and missile industries.
These sanctions are announced as concerns grow that Tehran’s unprecedented attack on Israel could escalate the conflicts in the Middle East.
The Office of Foreign Assets Control of the US Treasury Department has targeted 16 individuals and two entities in Iran that produce engines for the drones used in the April 14th attack on Israel.
In addition, Britain has targeted several Iranian military organizations, individuals, and entities involved in Iran’s drone and ballistic missile industries.
Janet Yellen, the US Treasury Secretary, stated that they will continue to use their sanction authorities to address Iran with further actions in the coming days and weeks.
This action comes after US officials warned earlier this week that they are preparing for new sanctions in response to Iran’s activities in the region and to prevent future attacks.
