The American oil tanker that Iran seized last year is heading towards international waters.
Ship tracking data indicates that the American oil tanker, the Advent Jasper, which was seized by the Islamic Republic a year ago, is now moving towards international waters.
In April 2023, Iranian military vessels seized the Advent Jasper oil tanker, which was sailing under the flag of the Marshall Islands, as it passed through international waters near the Strait of Hormuz in the Sea of Oman. It was later revealed that this tanker was leased by the major American oil company Chevron.
Analysis of ship tracking data by the Associated Press shows that the oil tanker is now heading to the port of Khor Fakkan in the United Arab Emirates. However, Iranian authorities have not yet confirmed the departure of the ship.
Earlier, Branch 55 of the Tehran Court had issued an order to seize the cargo of this oil tanker, valued at over $50 million.
