Australia imposes sanctions on five individuals and three Iranian entities in response to Iran's missile and drone attack on Israel

Australia has imposed sanctions on five individuals and three entities from Iran in response to Iran’s missile and drone attack on Israel.

The Australian government, in response to Iran’s unprecedented missile and drone attack on Israel in April and Iran’s destabilizing activities in the Middle East, is imposing targeted sanctions against five Iranian individuals and three other entities, including the IRGC.

In a statement released by the Australian Ministry of Foreign Affairs on Wednesday, May 14, 2024, the IRGC is mentioned as a malign actor that has long been a threat to international security and its own people.
