Blinken says ceasefire in Gaza depends on Hamas

US Secretary of State Antony Blinken has said that the ceasefire in Gaza currently depends solely on Hamas’ agreement.

The US Secretary of State on Friday, March 8, before meeting with his Turkish counterpart in Istanbul, said, ‘We are negotiating, and our focus is to see if a ceasefire in Gaza is achievable or not.’

Blinken had previously urged the Hamas group to immediately accept a ceasefire with Israel.

He also mentioned the importance of establishing more border crossings for the entry of humanitarian aid into the Gaza Strip, saying that Israel must employ every possible method to send aid to those in need.
