Candidate in Varamin Disqualified after Winning

The Varamin candidate was disqualified after winning.

The spokesman of the Guardian Council said that the elections in Varamin’s constituencies of Pishva and Qarchak were pushed to the second round, and the votes of Mehdi Zamani Afshar were invalidated.

He mentioned that based on Article 65 of the Islamic Consultative Assembly Law and the examination of received documents and reports, Mr. Ali Khazaei ranked second and Mr. Hossein Nooshabadi ranked third, advancing to the second round.

Accordingly, with the official announcement of the Guardian Council, the votes of Mr. Mehdi Zamani Afshar, which were 30,463, were invalidated, and he was removed from the election process.
