Corruption of 800,000 euros in Ardabil discovered

The Public and Revolution Prosecutor of Ardabil Province announced the issuance of an indictment in a case of disrupting the country’s currency system in this province.

Jalal Afaghi stated that the indictment of the suspects in the currency corruption case amounting to 800,000 euros, equivalent to 570 billion rials, was issued and the case was sent to the competent court.

He added that the main suspect in this case and his related trading company had refrained from fulfilling their commitments by receiving currency under the pretext of importing goods and had unlawfully seized the mentioned currency amounts.

The Public and Revolution Prosecutor of Ardabil Province stated that upon receiving the report and forming the judicial case, preliminary investigations began under the supervision and follow-up of the Public Rights Department of this prosecutor’s office, and once the suspects’ involvement was confirmed, they were pursued.
