Due to safety issues, the Crisis Management Assistant of Tehran’s Denaye Noor Shopping Center has been sealed.

Iranian media have reported that Denaye Noor Shopping Center in eastern Tehran has been sealed by the capital’s municipality due to safety issues.

Hamid Salimi, the Deputy for Prevention and Risk Reduction at Tehran’s Organization for Prevention and Crisis Management, told ISNA news agency on Monday, February 18, that in order to protect public rights and enhance the safety of high-risk buildings, the unsafe and busy Denaye Noor commercial building on Soleymani Highway has been sealed.

Mr. Salimi stated that this building had been identified as high-risk and unsafe several months ago, and the building owner had been repeatedly warned to address the danger, but no action was taken, leading to a judicial order to seal the building.

Mehdi Babaei, the head of Tehran City Council’s Safety Committee, had previously mentioned that 75 unsafe buildings in the capital are in critical condition and should be prioritized for safety measures.
