More than 10,000 people died in accidents in the first half of this year, according to the Forensic Medical Organization

The Legal Medical Organization of Iran announced that from the beginning of the Iranian year until the end of Shahrivar month, a total of 10,720 people lost their lives in traffic accidents.

According to the organization, in the first six months of this year, there were more than 8,000 male fatalities and over 2,000 female fatalities.

The Legal Medical Organization stated that compared to the same period last year (1401), which had a death toll of 9,904, this figure has increased by 82%.

According to the Legal Medical Organization, the number of injured individuals has also seen a 37% growth in the first six months of this year, with over 201,000 people seeking medical attention during this period.

Many experts believe that besides human factors, the low standard of domestic vehicles in this country has contributed to the increase in fatalities. Iran still has one of the highest fatality rates in this regard compared to many other countries.

On the other hand, estimating the damages caused by accidents is not so easy, but some consider it to be in the billions of tomans annually.
