Amnesty International says that at least 14 Iranian citizens detained in connection with anti-government protests in the country are at serious risk of execution. The organization states that the charges against them, including deliberate murder, do not comply with Iran’s international obligations.
The individuals mentioned by Amnesty International are Arash Takedastan, Javad Rohi, Ebrahim Naroui, Kambeiz Khoroos, Majid Kazemi, Manouchehr Mohammadi, Mansour Dahmardeh, Mohammad Boroujeni, Mahdi Bahman, Mahdi Mohammadi Farad, Mohammad Ghabadloo, Saleh Mirhashemi, Saeed Ya’qoubi, and Shoaib Mir Baloch Zahi Rigi. Amnesty International has named these twelve individuals.
The statement also mentions that the Iranian authorities have violated these citizens’ right to a fair trial and have subjected several of them to torture and ill-treatment, including electric shocks, death threats, sexual violence, and other forms of brutality.
