Germany accused Russia of launching an information war

Germany accused Russia of launching an information war.

Germany’s Defense Minister, in his first statement after the release of an audio file from a meeting of senior military officials, accused Russia of conducting an information war to sow discord in his country.

Russian media on Friday, March 1st, released a 38-minute audio file of a conversation where German army officers discussed sending weapons to Ukraine and a possible attack on a bridge in Crimea. Following the release of this file, Moscow officials sought clarification from Berlin.

TASS news agency reported on Tuesday, March 4th, citing an anonymous source, that Russia’s Foreign Ministry summoned the German ambassador in response to this event.

On Saturday, Germany called the release of this file in Russia a blatant attempt to sow discord and stated that they are investigating the matter.
