Holding the funeral procession and burial ceremony of Ebrahim Raisi in Mashhad

The body of Ebrahim Raisi was transferred from Birjand to Mashhad for burial on the morning of Friday, May 14th. Raisi had been elected as the representative of the Assembly of Experts in Birjand.

Iranian state television and news agencies broadcasted the funeral procession of Raisi live, speaking about the massive crowd and the roaring flood of people.

However, the media of the Islamic Republic did not hide that they had brought a massive crowd to Mashhad with government facilities and municipal services. The governor of Sabzevar mentioned that only the caravan from this city had arrived in Mashhad with more than 40 buses, 400 private cars, and 40 vans. Caravans from other cities like Ghoochan, Chenaran, Golbahar, Binolood, Firuzeh, Nishabur, Sabzevar, and Torbat Heydarieh had also been dispatched to Mashhad.

The governor, mayor of Mashhad, leaders of the military and security forces, Al-Hadi, the Friday prayer leader of Mashhad, and the Raisi family had also arrived at the city’s airport.

Officials announced that the funeral procession of Raisi would begin at 15 Khordad Square and then be transferred to the shrine of the Eighth Imam of Shiites.
