Ibrahim Raeisi killed in helicopter crash incident

Ibrahim Raeisi was killed in a helicopter crash.

Mr. Raeisi had traveled to East Azerbaijan province to inaugurate the joint dam of Qiz Qalasi with the Republic of Azerbaijan on the Aras River border.

Hossein Amirabdollahian, the Foreign Minister, Mohammad Ali Al-Hashem, the Friday prayer leader of Tabriz, and Malik Rahmati, the governor of East Azerbaijan, along with the flight crew, protection team, and one of the other guards were passengers on the helicopter.

On the afternoon of Monday, 30th of Ordibehesht, one of the helicopters in Ibrahim Raeisi’s convoy crashed in the Jolfa region of East Azerbaijan.

The helicopter carrying Ibrahim Raeisi and his companions crashed on their way back to Tabriz.

The first news of this incident was published yesterday around 4 PM Tehran time.
