Iran’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs states that NATO’s declaration of military support to Russia in the war against Ukraine is baseless

The Iranian Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated that NATO’s statement regarding military assistance to Russia in the war with Ukraine is baseless.

The Iranian Ministry of Foreign Affairs considers the NATO leaders’ statement in Washington accusing Iran of sending military aid to Russia in the Ukraine war as completely unfounded, politically motivated, and rejects it.

Iran’s Foreign Ministry spokesperson, Naser Kanaani, has stated that what we are witnessing in Ukraine is the result of provocative NATO policies and actions centered around the US, which continue.

However, Iran’s Foreign Ministry spokesperson does not deny sending arms to Russia and states that efforts to link the Ukraine war to bilateral cooperation between the Islamic Republic of Iran and Russia are solely driven by political motives to portray interventions and the continuation of Western military aid to Ukraine in a legitimate light.

At the seventy-fifth NATO summit in Washington, one of the main focuses was Russia’s attack on Ukraine, and NATO member countries expressed concerns about military assistance from various countries, including Iran and China, to Russia.

NATO members accused China of empowering Russia significantly in its war against Ukraine.
