An oil tanker seized by Iran was anchored off the coast of the UAE.
An American ship seized by Iran was released and anchored in a port in the UAE.
Tracking data of the seized oil tanker, the Adrian Darya, more than a year ago by the Islamic Republic indicated that the ship has dropped anchor near the port of Khor Fakkan in the United Arab Emirates.
Data received on Tuesday, July 15, showed that the ship was in a position near the UAE after moving away from Iran in the past week.
A spokesman for the major oil company, Chevron, said on Saturday that there are reports of the oil tanker’s release on July 10.
The Chevron spokesman, without providing further details, said, ‘We are pleased with the safe release of the ship and its crew.’
The Adrian Darya, flying the flag of the Marshall Islands, was seized in April 2023 and detained by the Iranian military in the Gulf of Oman after an alleged confrontation with an Iranian boat.
