Israel summons ambassadors of countries supporting Palestinian membership in the United Nations.

The Israeli Foreign Ministry says it summons the ambassadors of six countries regarding the Security Council’s vote on Palestine’s full membership.

An Israeli Foreign Ministry spokesperson mentioned ambassadors from France, Japan, and South Korea.

During the Security Council vote on Friday, while 12 members voted in favor of Palestine’s request and two countries abstained, the US vetoed the request.

The US veto prompted Mahmoud Abbas, the head of Palestinian self-rule institutions, to speak about the possibility of reviewing relations with the US.
