The Minister of Communications is pleased with the increase in the country’s internet speed.
Zarepour, the Minister of Communications and Information Technology, says that domestic internet traffic is increasing day by day, with almost half of the people’s usage being domestic traffic and the other half being international.
He stated that the progress towards the promised 30% increase in internet speed by operators is being pursued. The Regulatory Authority will soon hold a meeting and will unveil a website that will show the speed of each operator every two weeks, so people can see the speed status. If operators fulfill their commitments, it’s good, but if not, they will definitely be penalized.
In response to the question of whether he is satisfied as the Minister of Communications with the operators’ performance in increasing internet speed, he said, ‘Yes, good progress is being made.’
