The Ministry of Education has removed the Norouz holiday homework for elementary schools.
Hamid Tarifi Hosseini, the Deputy of Elementary Education at the Ministry of Education, mentioned that there is no specific homework in the form of writing for students, and their recommendation is not to assign any special homework to students.
He divided the Norouz program into three parts: diverse learning opportunities during Norouz, storytelling, and fostering friendship with nature and the environment. He explained that there is no specific homework in the form of writing for students, and their recommendation is for teachers to specify certain Norouz-related tasks according to students’ abilities.
Mr. Tarifi Hosseini explained that the diverse learning opportunities include six educational sections: belief, religious, moral, social, political, biological, physical, aesthetic, artistic, economic, vocational, scientific, and technological. The Norouz and storytelling section includes reading, writing, and storytelling. He added that the section fostering friendship with nature and the environment involves activities such as collaborating with the Physical Education and Health Department and engaging in activities like being in nature and planting saplings.
