More than a third of the remaining hostages with Hamas in Israel have been killed

Israel claims that more than one-third of the remaining hostages with Hamas have been killed.

The Israeli government announced on Tuesday that they believe more than one-third of the remaining hostages in the Gaza Strip have been killed.

Out of around 250 individuals who were taken hostage by armed Palestinians led by Hamas during the Operation Protective Edge on October 7, 2023, a significant number were released during the ceasefire agreement in November, and some others were found dead or alive by Israeli soldiers.

According to the updated figures, 120 individuals are still in captivity, and Israeli authorities believe that 43 of them have died based on various sources and forensic medical analysis, although some officials privately suggest that the number of fatalities may be higher.
