Putin has called up another 150,000 people for military service.
Russian President Vladimir Putin has issued a spring call-up order for 150,000 citizens of the country for military service. This call-up was published on Monday, April 1, on the Kremlin’s website.
According to a new law passed by the Russian parliament last July, the maximum age for military service has been increased from 27 to 30 years.
This law will be implemented from January 1, 2024. All men over 18 years old are also required to serve one year in the military.
Vladimir Putin had also issued an autumn call-up order for 130,000 people for military service last September. Last spring, the call-up order for military service included 147,000 citizens of this country.
Following heavy human losses in the Russian army in the occupied areas of Ukraine, the Russian Ministry of Defense has promised not to send conscripts to war. However, reports indicate continued widespread evasion of military service by Russian youth.
In this regard, the Russian Ministry of Defense released a document on Monday showing that conscripts who have completed their one-year service have been discharged. These individuals can voluntarily request deployment to the war front.
