Putin expressed readiness for talks on peace in Ukraine during a meeting with Orban.
The Russian president says if Ukraine wants peace, it must hand over four of its own areas in the east and south, which Moscow claims belong to Russia, to this country.
Vladimir Putin made these statements on Friday, July 15, after meeting with Viktor Orban, the Prime Minister of Hungary, and at the same time stated that Moscow is in talks for a complete withdrawal of its forces from the Donetsk and Luhansk People’s Republics, as well as the Zaporizhzhia and Kherson regions.
Mr. Putin signed a formal accession agreement to the territories of the Donetsk and Luhansk People’s Republics, Kherson, and Zaporizhzhia in September 2022 and announced that these lands officially become part of Russian territory.
The Prime Minister of Hungary went on a planned trip to Moscow on Friday and met with the President of Russia at the Kremlin.
Radio Free Europe reported the news of this trip on Thursday, citing an unnamed Hungarian government official.
