The Russian Foreign Minister stated that the comprehensive cooperation agreement between Iran and Russia will be finalized soon.

Sergei Lavrov, the Russian Foreign Minister, announced on Tuesday, September 2, in Moscow, among students and professors at MGIMO University, that the final draft of the new comprehensive agreement between Iran and Russia will be completed in the very near future.

Lavrov described the finalization of the comprehensive cooperation agreement between the two countries as a symbolic step in Russia’s relations with the new President of Iran.

The Islamic Republic and Russia signed a 20-year strategic agreement in 2001, which was automatically extended for another 5 years in 2020.
