Tehran residents breathed polluted air for 108 days

Tehran citizens have been breathing unhealthy air for 108 days since the beginning of this year, which is a factor in and exacerbates various diseases including cancer.

Air pollution is considered the second leading cause of deaths from non-communicable diseases.

Statistics show an upward trend in cancer cases in Iran.

According to Mohammadreza Sohrabi, the deputy for health affairs at Shahid Beheshti University of Medical Sciences, more than 135,000 people in Iran are diagnosed with cancer annually.
