The Football Federation’s reaction to the rumor of Iranian players receiving bribes from Qatar is that I am not aware of it.

The Secretary-General of the Federation stated regarding the circulation of a list in the virtual space accusing some players and the national team coach from Qatar of taking bribes and losing in the semi-finals of the Nations Cup, ‘I am not well-informed about this matter. After every tournament, there are rumors and talks created. I haven’t heard any specific discussions that we need to take seriously.’

Regarding the rumor that these individuals have received 180 billion tomans in bribes from Qataris, Mombini said, ‘I hear this talk from you. Our players and coaching staff who have worked in Qatar have a special character that we have seen on and off the field. It is possible for many rumors to arise in the virtual space, but the Football Federation carefully monitors all these issues and believes in the purity and honesty of our children.’
