The cause of the incident at the hospital is still unknown, according to the Fire Department.
This morning, one of the media outlets speculated about the cause of the fire incident at Gandhi Hospital and quoted a staff member of the hospital who claimed that a welding worker on the fifteenth floor of the hospital caused the fire. These statements were made while no official statement has been released regarding the cause of the incident so far.
In this regard, Kamran Abdoli, the Deputy for Prevention at the Tehran Fire Department and Safety Services, dismissed this claim and stated that the cause of the fire at Gandhi Hospital is being investigated by Tehran Fire Department experts. As the investigations are ongoing, no specific reason has been announced as the cause of this incident.
Abdoli continued by saying that there is no doubt that this hospital has safety issues and has received warnings multiple times. However, at present, the exact cause of the fire is not known. Therefore, the issues raised in some media outlets are incorrect.
The Deputy of Prevention at the Tehran Firefighting and Safety Services Organization also stated that investigating the cause of a fire is a specialized task, and firefighting experts examine the evidence, all available traces, and their specialized knowledge to determine the cause. Therefore, it cannot be attributed to hearsay or personnel announcements.
