We do not expect the elections in Iran to be free and fair, America says

The United States does not expect the elections in Iran to be free and fair.

Matthew Miller, the spokesperson for the US State Department, emphasized on Thursday, February 28th that the United States does not expect the parliamentary elections in Iran to be free and fair.

The US State Department spokesperson said, ‘My interpretation is that a large number of people in Iran do not expect these elections to be free and fair.’

Mr. Miller stated, ‘As you know, thousands of candidates have been disqualified in an opaque process, and the world has long known that Iran’s political system has undemocratic and non-transparent characteristics in its executive, judicial, and electoral processes.’
