A group of disabled individuals gathered in front of the Organization for Planning and Budget on Tuesday, February 13th, to protest against the dire living conditions and delayed rehabilitation budgets.
According to the Campaign for Disabled Persons, 49% of the budget allocated to the Welfare Organization has not been spent on social prevention and rehabilitation programs, which has caused multiple problems for the target community, especially disabled individuals.
Numerous images and videos of this protest have been shared by the Campaign for Disabled Persons on Twitter and Telegram. One of the slogans chanted by the protesters was, ‘This is our shame, this is our shame, our budget program.’
Other slogans such as ‘Mir-Kazemi, have some shame, abandon the program’ and ‘Anti-disabled organization, discard our budget’ were also shouted by the protesters.
