A Baha’i citizen has been sentenced to 10 years in prison.
Mahvash Shahriari Sabat and Fariba Kamalabadi, former members of the Baha’i administration in Iran known as the Yaran Iran, who had already spent 10 years of their lives in prisons of the Islamic Republic, were rearrested by security forces and sentenced to 10 years in prison for the second time by Branch 26 of the Revolutionary Court, presided over by Judge Eiman Afshari, on November 21.
The global Baha’i community has denounced this unjust and merciless verdict through statements, stating that the recent verdict was issued following a one-hour trial, during which the majority of the time was spent on insults and humiliation by the judge towards the defendants.
