A member of the Tehran city council said that the mayor of Tehran has verbally stated twice that he has received a mandate from the President regarding the capital’s air pollution.

On December 20, Mehdi Chamran responded to a question about whether the mayor of Tehran has received a mandate from the President to address air pollution, saying the mayor has not received such a mandate and the Minister of Interior is following up on the issue.

Meanwhile, Naser Amani stated that the mayor of Tehran has announced twice that he has received a mandate from the President concerning the capital’s air pollution.
