A member of the Health Commission in the parliament stated that dengue fever will not spread as much as COVID-19.
A member of the Health and Treatment Commission of the Islamic Consultative Assembly considered the spread of dengue fever to be much less than COVID-19 and said that this disease does not have the fatality rate of COVID-19. However, he emphasized that stress affects people’s immunity and that people should try to observe hygiene to control this disease as well.
Ahmad Ariannejad expressed that the transmission of dengue fever, which is only through mosquitoes, cannot be as rapid and widespread as COVID-19. COVID-19 easily spreads through respiratory transmission, but dengue fever does not have this characteristic.
He added that if hygiene is observed in living and working environments, this disease will not spread as rapidly and widely as COVID-19. Therefore, in areas with many mosquitoes, efforts should be made to eliminate mosquitoes from living areas using insecticides and nets. If mosquitoes do not bite an infected person, they will not transmit the disease to the next person they bite. Therefore, if an infected person is isolated and not exposed to mosquito bites, the transmission chain will be broken.
He concluded by pointing out that this disease is not as deadly as COVID-19, but emphasized that stress affects people’s immunity and individuals should make an effort to observe hygiene guidelines to control this disease.
