A part of Kojour forest in Nowshahr caught fire.

The head of the Department of Natural Resources and Watershed Management of Kojour in Nowshahr reported a fire incident in the forest area of Sekeldareh near the village of Kinj in this region.

Mohsen Pordavoudi added that this incident was reported about an hour and 30 minutes ago by the villagers of this village, and immediately the natural resources personnel were dispatched to the area to extinguish the fire.

He stated that the fire is of the surface type, and the likely cause is from nature lovers, livestock breeders, or hunters, which is under investigation.

The head of natural resources in Kojour, Nowshahr, expressed hope that with the presence of nature-friendly people and villagers around this forest area and the efforts of forest rangers, this fire will be extinguished soon.

The area of natural resources and watershed management in Kojour, Nowshahr, covers about 80,000 hectares of forest and pasture land.

Kojour district, with a population of at least 12,000 people in 64 villages and two cities, is located approximately 75 kilometers southeast of Nowshahr.
